Norway wins men's World Cup biathlon relay ahead of Russia

RUHPOLDING, Germany (AP) — Norway's powerful relay team won a men's biathlon World Cup relay race on Friday, ahead of Russia and Austria.

The Norwegians did not have a penalty lap in snowy conditions and finished the 4 x 7.5-kilometer event in one hour, 17 minutes and five seconds.

Olympic champion Russia also had no penalty laps but finished 14.6 seconds off the pace.

Austria had one penalty lap to finish 35.8 seconds behind the winners.

France had to settle for fourth, ahead of Germany and the United States.
