NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — The gloves have come off for Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. After months of civility between the two Republican presidential candidates, on Thursday night they clashed in several heated exchanges. Trump said Cruz has a "big question mark" hanging over his candidacy given his birth in Canada to an American mother. Cruz questioned Trump's conservatism, saying he has "New York values."

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — Indonesian police have arrested three men they suspect are linked to Thursday's attacks in the heart of Jakarta. The arrests happened during a raid at the suspects' homes near the capital. On Thursday, five men attacked a Starbucks cafe and traffic police with hand-made bombs, guns and suicide belts, killing two people. All the attackers were killed, and police say they've found a flag of the Islamic State group in one attacker's home.

FLINT, Mich. (AP) — Michigan's governor is asking President Barack Obama to issue an emergency and major disaster declaration because of the Flint water crisis. Gov. Rick Snyder's office says it's asking for additional federal aid for both individuals and public agencies involved in the effort to provide Flint residents with clean drinking water. Flint's tap water became contaminated with too much lead after the city switched its water supply in 2014 to save money.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — A federal court has begun criminal proceedings against drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman's security chief, who was captured with him last week. Ivan Gastelum Avila, known as "El Cholo Ivan," faces charges of drug trafficking, arms possession and the murder of a soldier in a 2013 confrontation.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Celine Dion is mourning the death of her husband, Rene Angelil. Angelil died Thursday after a long battle with throat cancer. He was 73. The couple have three young children.
