GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Geoff Beans scored 11 of his season-high 16 points and Furman used a hot-shooting first half to cruise to a 77-57 win over Samford on Monday night.
Daniel Fowler made 3 of 3 from 3-point range and finished with 12 points — all in the first half — while Stephen Croone, Devin Sibley and Kendrec Ferrara scored 11 apiece for Furman (9-8, 3-1 Southern Conference). Beans made three of his four 3-pointers before halftime as the Paladins made 14 of 28 from the field, including 6 of 13 from behind the arc, and took a 45-22 advantage into the break.
Fowler scored six in the first three-plus minutes and Furman scored 10 in a row to take an 11-4 lead it would never relinquish.
After Samford (10-7, 1-3) pulled to within three, an 11-2 run pushed Furman's lead to 22-10 midway through the first.
Christen Cunningham lead the Bulldogs with nine points on 4-of-15 shooting.
