Nelson said in a speech Sunday that Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints President Thomas S. Monson received instructions regarding same-sex couples directly from God.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Prosecutors say a former Utah lawmaker sentenced to probation for taking campaign cash from the mayor of Salt Lake County could face new charges following allegations of more missing money. Justin Miller paid back the $24,000 he pleaded guilty, but Mayor Ben McAdams says $50,000 may be missing.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Board of Education says Superintendent Brad Smith will take a 90-day medical leave of absence. A spokeswoman said Smith has recently dealt with chronic health challengers, but would not elaborate. She said the problems are not considered life-threatening.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak says his conduct during last month's heated game against BYU contributed to the decision to cancel the series next season. Krystkowiak says the rivalry has turned into a "venomous and toxic environment" and he's concerned for the well-being of the players.
