DENVER (AP) — Max Landis scored 19 points as IPFW held on for its seventh-straight win, edging Denver 65-64 on Saturday night.

Landis was 4 of 9 from the field, making all of his buckets from distance for the Mastodons (14-4, 3-0 Summit League). He also hit 7 of 8 from the line. John Konchar and DeAngelo Stewart added 10 points apiece. The team averaged 50 percent shooting from the field and had a 32-23 rebounding edge over Denver.

Stewart and Mo Evans sank back-to-back 3-pointers for a 21-17 IPFW lead with 5:48 left in the first half and the Mastodons had a 31-24 advantage at halftime.

Denver trailed through much of the second half but took a 58-56 lead on a 3-pointer by Nate Engesser with 3:56 to play. Landis responded with his own trey to put the Mastodons back on top for good.

Joe Rosga scored 20 points for the Pioneers (9-8, 1-3).
