SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Shawn Johnson made all four attempts from beyond the arc and scored 19 points to lead Incarnate Word to a 70-56 Southland Conference win over Northwestern State on Saturday.
Johnson was 7 of 10 from the floor. Kyle Hittle had 14 points and nine rebounds and Derail Green and Jontrell Walker chipped in 10 apiece for Incarnate Word (6-7, 1-1).
The Cardinals, who never trailed, had a 45-34 lead at the half.
Northwestern State's Ishamel Lane and Sabri Thompson scored six straight to open the second period and close to 45-40. Green answered with a layup that started a 17-8 run and the Demons never threatened again.
Zeek Woodley had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead Northwestern State (3-10, 0-3), which has lost three straight. Lane had 12 points and Ta'Jon Welcome added 10 for the Demons.
