HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) — John Brown scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds as High Point scorched Presbyterian, 82-66 to go to 5-0 to start the Big South Conference season Saturday.
The Panthers shot 31 of 50 (62 percent) from the field, including 10 of 16 from beyond distance, and collected 25 assists on 31 made baskets.
Brown hit a pair of field goals during a 10-0 run that spanned halftime and put High Point up 51-35. The Panthers maintained a double-digit lead they pushed to as many as 20 points, 82-62 with under two minutes to play.
High Point (12-4, 5-0) built a 46-35 lead in the first half and cruised to the win.
DeSean Murray scored 26 points and Reggie Dillard added 11 for Presbyterian (7-9, 2-3).
The Panthers have won five straight over the Blue Hose and lead the overall series, 13-8.
