FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — An unruly passenger aboard an American Airlines flight from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Las Vegas prompted an unscheduled landing at Dallas-Fort Worth. An American Airlines spokesman did not describe the nature of the disruption on board Flight 1735, referring questions to the FBI. The FBI did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a 36-year-old man sought for several months in a fatal shooting in Las Vegas has been arrested while walking on a street in Northern California. Police say that Dwayne Lawson was arrested Jan. 4 in Fairfield, about 45 miles northeast of San Francisco, and was being held there pending transfer to Las Vegas.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — More than 14,500 acres of land in Nevada has been recommended for federal purchase. The Nevada Appeal reports that the area known as Bently land in the Pine Nut Mountains was nominated by Gardnerville firm Legacy Land and Water, which is owned by former Douglas County commissioner Jacques Etchegoyhen.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A 19-year-old man has died after being removed from a frozen pond in Reno. Reno police and firefighters say the man fell through the pond at Teglia's Paradise Park early this morning. Rescue crews say he was in the water about half an hour before being pulled out.
