RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) — Jacolby Mobley scored 18 points and Tennessee-Martin topped Eastern Kentucky 78-70 on Thursday.

Mobley made 6 of 9 from the field, including 4 of 4 from 3-point range, for the Skyhawks (9-7, 1-0 Ohio Valley). Twymond Howard scored 16 and Myles Taylor added 15 points with seven rebounds. UTM shot 58 percent and 7 of 15 from beyond the arc.

Eastern Kentucky (10-7, 1-1) was led by Jarelle Reischel with 22 points and seven boards. JaVontae Hawkins had 17 points, Isaac McGlone scored 13 and Nick Mayo added 10. The Colonels made 7 of 31 (22.6 percent) from 3.

UTM closed the first half with an 11-5 run — including a pair of 3-pointers by Howard — and led 42-32 at intermission.

Eastern Kentucky used a 9-0 spurt to take a 59-57 lead with 6:41 left. The Skyhawks responded with a 9-2 run to go up five with 2:21 left and held off the Colonels down the stretch.
