BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter has named Megan Ronk as the new state Department of Commerce director.
Ronk, currently the chief operating officer for the department before her promotion, succeeds former director Jeff Sayer. Otter made the announcement Thursday morning at the AP Legislative Preview.
"She's prepared to hit the ground running," Otter said, noting her experience running the daily operations within the department as well as her work as the former executive director of the Idaho Meth Project.
Ronk said in a prepared statement that she's excited to continue working closely with partners across the state to sell Idaho to businesses and travelers worldwide.
Ronk's appointment is subject to confirmation by the Idaho Senate.
