NEW YORK (AP) — Maodo Lo scored 25 points while distributing 6 assists and Columbia held off Maryland-Eastern Shore by shooting 5 of 6 from the free throw line in the final 22 seconds to post an 81-75 nonconference victory Wednesday night.

Devin Martin converted two free throws with 46 seconds left to pull Maryland-Eastern Shore (3-14) within two points, 76-74. Nate Hickman and Grant Mullins each hit a pair of free throws and Lo hit the second of two to preserve the victory.

Lo scored 10 points in the first 10 minutes, hitting a 3-pointer midway through the first half to give the Lions a 23-20 lead and another with a second left in the half to send Columbia into intermission with a 44-36 advantage.

Mullins finished with 15 points for Columbia (10-6) and Jeff Coby added another 11.

Dominique Elliott and Martin each scored 21 points to lead the Hawks.
