POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Trevis Wyche and Antwon Portly combined to score 31 points and St. Peter's fought off a late rally by converting 7 of 10 from the free throw line to earn its third straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference victory, a 68-60 win at Marist Monday night.
Portley hit two free throws with 50 seconds left to give the Peacocks a 63-50 advantage and hit two more with :35 remaining to make it 67-55.
St. Peter's (5-7, 3-0 MAAC) built a 12-point lead through the first half, taking a 38-26 lead into intermission. The Peacocks used a dominating effort on the boards, outrebounding Marist 46-32 while collecting 12 steals and recording 14 assists on their 26 made baskets.
Wyche finished with 16 points and three steals for the Peacocks and Portley had 15 points, six rebound, and three assists.
Brian Parker led the Red Foxes (4-9, 1-3) with 14 points.
