Classes canceled after suburban school buses vandalized

SOMERS, N.Y. (AP) — Classes at the Somers school district have been canceled after New York state police say numerous school buses were vandalized.

Police say school bus employees discovered the vandalism after arriving for work Monday morning.

The buses are kept in a lot behind Somers High School.

Police did not describe the vandalism.

The Journal News says Yonkers-based Royal Coach Lines, Inc., which owns the buses, says the incident is under investigation.

Officials at the Somers school district say classes were canceled for the day Monday.
