CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — Southwest Idaho authorities say a man shot by Homedale police last weekend has died.
KBOI-TV reports (http://is.gd/SdHcah) Gilbert Heredia was shot on Dec. 26 when police say he pulled a handgun and fired when officers arrived at his home to assist a child custody exchange.
Authorities say an officer with the Homedale Police Department and deputy with the Owyhee County Sheriff's Office both fired their weapons.
Neither the deputy nor the officer was hurt but they have been put on paid administrative leave as the Canyon County Sheriff's office continues its investigation.
