SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Josh Cuthbertson scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds as South Carolina Upstate rolled over Division II Lees-McRae College 88-60 on Wednesday night.
Cuthbertson did it with 7-of-11 shooting from the field including three from distance for the Spartans (4-11). Jacob Schulte and Malik Moore scored 16 points apiece, Deion Holmes added 13 points. The team averaged 51.7 percent shooting from the field and had a 56-33 rebounding edge over Lees-McRae.
A Moore 3-pointer late in the first half gave SC Upstate a 27-26 edge with 4:44 remaining in the half. The Spartans never trailed after that and led 35-30 at halftime.
SC Upstate opened the second half with an 18-8 surge capped by a Cuthbertson 3-pointer and a Moore dunk to go up 53-38 with 13:31 to play.
Kendall Isler, Darius Malbon and Zach Wilmoth scored 13 points apiece for the Bobcats.
