UNIVERSITY PARK, Fla. (AP) — Elmo Stephen hit six 3-pointers and scored 18 points — both career highs — and Adrian Diaz added 13 on 6-of-7 shooting to help Florida International beat Florida A&M 65-45 Tuesday night.

Donte McGill scored 12 points with three steals for Florida International (6-7).

Treavann Warren's jumper with 4:12 left in the first half pulled Florida A&M within one, 26-25, but the Rattlers went scoreless for the next 11-plus minutes and FIU used a 19-0 run to push its lead to 20 before Isaiah Omoregie's layup with 13:01 to play ended the FAMU drought.

The Golden Panthers led by at least 15 the rest of the way.

Florida A&M shot 30.8 percent from the field, including 3 of 21 (14.3 percent) from 3-point range, and hit 10 of 18 (55.6 percent) from the free-throw line.

Malcolm Bernard led the Rattlers (4-10) with 18 points. Warren grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds.
