MILWAUKEE (AP) — Marquette has signed coach Steve Wojciechowski to a two-year contract extension that would keep him with the Golden Eagles through the 2021-22 season.

Athletic director Bill Scholl announced the extension Tuesday, on the eve of the team's Big East opener against Seton Hall.

Financial terms were not disclosed by the university.

A former Duke assistant, Wojciechowski arrived at Marquette in April 2014 to replace Buzz Williams, who took the same job at Virginia Tech.

Marquette went 13-19 in Wojciechowski's first season. The Golden Eagles are 10-2 to start this season and are on a nine-game winning streak.

Wojciechowski's first full year on the recruiting trail has been a success, having netted potential one-and-done freshman Henry Ellenson. The forward leads Marquette with 16.8 points and 9.8 rebounds.
