HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) — Tarique Thompson had 18 points and six rebounds as High Point routed Division III-member Methodist 96-50 on Monday night to complete its 2015-16 non-conference slate.

The Panthers raced to a 52-24 advantage after a half in winning their 10th straight home game and 26th game in the last 28 at home.

High Point (9-4) came into the game shooting 51.1 percent from beyond the arc over its last nine games at home, but Methodist held the Panthers to an uncharacteristic 3 of 13 from long range (23.1 percent).

Lorenzo Cugini scored five of his seven points in the first three minutes, helping High Point to a 12-4 lead.

Austin White and Andre Fox each contributed 15 points as High Point shot 54.7 percent from the field (35 of 64). John Brown had four of the Panthers' 20 steals.

Jackson Whitley's 10 points led Methodist, which turned it over 27 times.
