TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arnecia Hawkins scored 18 points, 12 in the second half, and No. 17 Arizona State beat Cal State Northridge 69-46 on Monday.

Hawkins hit 8 of 15 shots and was one of four Sun Devils (9-3) with five rebounds for a 42-29 advantage on the boards, including 19 on the offensive end, which led to 21 second-chance points.

Cal State Northridge (2-10) barely outshot Arizona State but the Sun Devils took 23 more shots and turned 25 Matador turnovers into 33 points. Arizona State was also 12 of 16 from the line compared to 1 of 5 for the Matadors and had a 40-16 advantage in the paint.

The game was tied after the first quarter but the Sun Devils held the Matadors to 13 points over the next two periods to lead 60-32 entering the fourth.

Serafina Maulupe led Cal State Northridge with 17 points.
