DALLAS (AP) — The game between the Chicago Bulls and Mavericks has been delayed because of reports of tornadoes in the Dallas area.

The start time was pushed back about 30 minutes to 8 p.m. Central time as severe weather moved through downtown Dallas about an hour before the scheduled tip-off.

American Airlines Center officials were working to get fans in the arena about two hours prior to game time, before gates were set to open. Some fans were caught in drenching rain on their way into the building on Saturday.

The National Weather Service said there was a tornado in Ellis County south of Dallas about 7 p.m. Central time, moving to the northeast and away from downtown.
