LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a teenager from Glendale, Arizona, who was shot and killed by a Las Vegas homeowner during what police say was a residential break-in.
The Clark County coroner said Thursday that 17-year-old Manquise Leshon Adams died of gunshots to the head and neck, and the case was ruled a homicide. The finding doesn't determine fault.
Police say Adams was shot dead about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday inside a home on Daybreak Drive.
Police say another teen was found with a gunshot wound in a neighboring backyard. He was hospitalized in stable condition. His name wasn't made public.
Las Vegas police characterized the homeowner as the victim of a burglary. They haven't said if he'll be charged with a crime.
Police say he was asleep when the teens broke in.
