ST GEORGE, Utah (AP) — A 20-year-old southern Utah man has died after crashing a modified child's tricycle on a steep trail.

Zachary Hunter Lusk was riding the tricycle Wednesday evening in Washington City when he picked up too much speed and went headfirst into a pile of rocks.

Washington City Fire Chief Brent Hafen says the tricycle had been modified with very large rear tires.

Hafen says riding the modified trikes have become trendy among young people, but the contraptions don't have a braking system.

The Spectrum of St. George reports (http://bit.ly/1m8f4vj ) Lusk was to be an intern next year for state Sen. Jim Dabakis, a Salt Lake City Democrat.
