RENO, Nev. (AP) — A couple is suing Reno Provisions, claiming that a dessert made at the restaurant gave one of them an E. coli infection. KRNV-TV reports that the product liability case was filed in Washoe County yesterday. It says Jessica Jameson was infected with E. coli when she ate a contaminated dessert served at The Twisted Fork and that she hasn't recovered. A public relations firm representing Reno Provisions said it hasn't reviewed the suit.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police say they have arrested an armed man who had barricaded himself in a downtown motel. Police say the standoff began after they responded to a report of a problem between neighbors yesterday afternoon. They say a man came to the door with a gun but did not point it at officers. Then he shut his door and made threats toward the police. The armed man soon came out and was taken into custody.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Airport officials say 3.7 million travelers flew in and out of Las Vegas in November, an increase of 10 percent from the same month a year ago. McCarran airport figures show the destination's traffic by air is up more than 5 percent for the year with one month left. So far, 41.7 million arriving and departing passengers have used the airport this year.
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Unemployment rates are either holding steady or ticking up in Nevada's three main metropolitan areas. State officials say Las Vegas' jobless rate remained flat at 6.3 percent in November. The rate rose to 5.7 percent in the Reno area, and up to 6.8 percent in Carson City.
