ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — UCF coach Donnie Jones says sophomore guard B.J. Taylor will sit out the rest of the season with a lower leg injury.

Taylor has been sidelined since suffering the injury in a preseason practice in October. Jones said Wednesday that after a few months of rehabilitation the injury hasn't healed as quickly as expected. He will be redshirted this season.

Taylor was an American Athletic Conference freshman team selection last season and led the Knights in scoring, averaging 12.8 points per game.

The Knights are 6-4 this season, coming off a 101-96 overtime win against Bethune-Cookman University on Tuesday. UCF takes a week off before hosting No. 20 George Washington on Dec. 29.
