UTEP beats Sam Houston State 87-68 to snap 5-game skid

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Lee Moore had 17 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Omega Harris added 16 points with five assists to help UTEP beat Sam Houston State 87-68 on Tuesday night to snap a five-game losing streak.

Sam Houston State led 4-0 before Moore scored nine of his points during a 23-0 run for a 19-point advantage. Moore scored the first seven points during the run.

UTEP closed the first half on a 13-4 run for a 45-30 lead and the Miners led by as many as 24 points in the second half.

Dominic Artis recorded his first double-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds and five assists for UTEP (7-5), which had 20 assists on 28 made field goals. Harris made five of the Miners' 12 3-pointers, and Moore and Earvin Morris each made three.

Dakarai Henderson led Sam Houston State (5-7) with 15 points and Aurimas Majauskas had 11 points.
