BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Aaron Cosby scored seven of his 17 points in the final 2:15 and Justin Johnson finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds to help Western Kentucky slip past Detroit 79-74 Tuesday night.

Fredrick Edmond scored 14 on 7-of-9 shooting while Ben Lawson and Chris McNeal added 10 points apiece for Western Kentucky (7-5). Lawson had five blocked shots and McNeal had a career-high seven assists.

Detroit scored 11 in a row, including 3-pointers by Josh McFolley and Anton Wilson, to take a 69-67 lead with 2:49 left.

Johnson converted a 3-point play and Cosby made two free throws then hit a 3 to put Western Kentucky up by six with 1:29 remaining.

Chris Jenkins made a pair of free throws and McFolley hit another 3 to make it 75-74 with 41 seconds left, but Cosby and McNeal combined to make 4 of 4 free throws to seal it.

McFolley led Detroit (6-4) with 15 points.
