TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have placed safety Tyrann Mathieu on injured reserve and re-signed safety Chris Clemons.

The moves come a day after coach Bruce Arians said Mathieu is out for the season with a torn ACL.

Clemons played in the Cardinals' first five games, making two tackles on special teams and one on defense.

Clemons was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury on Oct. 14 and was released with an injury settlement on Oct. 19. He has appeared in 78 games.
