MILES CITY, Mont. (AP) — A suspect in the slaying of an elderly Miles City man has been detained in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
The Miles City Star reports (http://bit.ly/1Mv13MY) the Kootenai County Sheriff's Department confirmed the arrest of 37-year-old Scott Austin Price on Tuesday.
He is a suspect in the Dec. 14 death of 78-year-old Ed Martin, who was found dead in his camper. A warrant for Price's arrest was issued last Friday.
Court records say Helen Martin told investigators that Price was a former renter of theirs and stopped by to look at a fifth-wheel camper they were selling. A short time later, Helen Martin said Price came back to the house, assaulted her and tied her up. She was able to escape and call for help. Police say items were missing from a safe.
An attorney for Price could not immediately be located.
