BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — Lincoln Davis scored 15 points and Dorian Chatman and Preston Mattingly added 14 apiece as Lamar picked up its second straight victory, an 86-69 win over Division II Texas Lutheran on Monday night.
The Cardinals (7-4) have won five of their last six games.
Lamar, which has been a slow starter in most of its games, jumped out to a 20-7 lead at the midway point in the first half. Texas Lutheran's Jordan Kouremetis nailed two straight 3-pointers and Sterling Holmes hit a jumper to close to 46-32 at halftime.
Chatman hit a jumper and followed with a layup, and Davis added a layup to take a 52-32 lead to open the second period and the Cardinals coasted to the win.
Holmes, who averages 20 points a game, was held to 12. Alex Cage also had 12 and Kouremetis added 11 points to lead the Bulldogs.
