CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Gabriella Hanson matched her career high with 19 points and No. 11 Oregon State used a smothering defense to overwhelm Cal Poly 80-43 on Monday.

Jamie Weisner added 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting and Marie Gulich had 14 for the Beavers (9-1), who held the Mustangs (6-6) to 21.5 percent shooting (14 of 65).

Cal Poly trailed 61-24 after three quarters on the way to its lowest output of the season. It is the fewest points allowed this season by Oregon State, which shot 58 percent in the second half and had a 54-27 rebounding advantage.

The Mustangs shot 17 percent (6 of 36) in the first half and had two strings of 12 straight missed shots. They had a 10-miss stretch in the third quarter.

Hannah Gilbert and Beth Balbierz had 11 points apiece for Cal Poly, which was 15 of 18 from the foul line.
