DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Charles Cooke had 11 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, Steve McElvene added 11 points and 10 rebounds and Dayton beat Furman 70-50 on Saturday night.
The Flyers (8-2) had a 31-29 lead at the break and never trailed in the second half. They opened with a 10-2 run, scored nine straight to go up by 19 and stretched that to an 18-4 run overall for their largest lead at 68-44 on Kendall Pollard's free throw with 2:26 left.
Dayton's second-half dominance was highlighted by outrebounding Furman 26-3 after the Paladins (6-5) had a 17-15 edge in the first.
Davis and Scoochie Smith added three 3-pointers and nine points each as the Flyers bounced back from having their 26-game home winning streak snapped in a 61-59 loss to Chattanooga on Saturday night.
Geoff Beans had 12 points and Stephen Croone added 11 for Furman.
