BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Phil Valenti scored 21 points, Malcolm McMillan added 20 points, and Canisius beat Boston University 84-68 on Saturday to snap a three-game losing streak.

Kassius Robertson finished with 13 points and Jermaine Crumpton had 11 points for the Golden Griffins (4-6), who won despite being outshot by the Terriers 52.2 percent to 39 percent. However, Canisius grabbed 21 offensive rebounds and forced 24 BU turnovers.

Canisius started the game on a 9-2 run and held a 43-24 lead at halftime.

The Terriers (5-6) trimmed the lead to 72-64 on a Cheddi Mosely 3-pointer with 2:21 to go. But BU got no closer, as Canisius finished the game a perfect 12 of 12 at the free-throw line, six of which came from McMillan, to close it out.

Eric Fanning led the Terriers with 18 points and seven rebounds. John Papale had 16.
