BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) — Chris Clemons scored a freshman-class record 31 points with eight rebounds and Campbell handled The Citadel 101-82 on Saturday.
Campbell (7-3) shot over 58 percent, including 10 of 26 from beyond the arc. Clemons was 7 of 14 from the floor, 4 of 10 on 3-point attempts and 13 of 14 from the line. He's scored in double figures in each of his 10 games this season. Troy Harper scored 19 points, Kyre' Hamer had 18 and D.J. Mason added 14 points and nine rebounds.
The Citadel (7-5) jumped out 10-3, but Campbell made a 12-0 run — punctuated by Harper's 3-pointer — and led 47-38 at the break.
The Camels used a 13-2 run early in the second half, including 11 straight by Clemons, to build a 16-point lead.
Derrick Henry tied his career high with 30 points, and P.J. Boutte added 16 points for The Citadel.
