ELON, N.C. (AP) — Christian Hairston scored 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field to lead Elon to a 79-69 win over UNC Greensboro on Saturday.

Tyler Seibring finished with 13 points and six rebounds and Tanner Samson added 12 points for the Phoenix (8-3), who have won five straight games.

Elon led 72-69 with 1:33 left, and closed the game on a 7-0 run. Luke Eddy made a 3-pointer with 1:25 to go to give the Phoenix a 75-69 advantage, and then Dainan Swoope and Steve Santa Ana each hit a pair of free throws in the final minute to close it.

UNC Greensboro was held without a field goal over the final 3:45, its only point coming on an RJ White free throw. The Spartans (4-7) finished 0 for 4 from the field with two turnovers.

Diante Baldwin scored 15 points for UNC Greensboro. White added 14.
