NEW YORK (AP) — Derail Green and Jontrell Walker combined for 44 points as Incarnate Word, a relative newcomer to Division I basketball, defeated storied St. John's 73-51 on Friday night, handing the Red Storm their first loss at home this season.

The nationally televised win on the home court of a Big East school is a high point for Incarnate Word (4-5), which is in its third year of Division I ball.

Green, a 6-foot-7 sophomore, scored a career-high 24 while playing without a turnover. Walker was a perfect 8-for-8 at the foul line, where the Cardinals scored 14 points on 15 free throw attempts. The duo helped UIW win despite 2-for-11 shooting (for six points) from usual high scorer Kyle Hittle.

The Cardinals broke open a tight game by closing the first half on a 12-2 run, surging to a 35-26 lead at the break.

Durand Johnson led the Red Storm (7-4) with 15 points.
