CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — State lawmakers meeting in a special session in Carson City have agreed to give the state economic development board authority, rather than the office director, final say on making changes in a deal for tax breaks for electric carmaker Faraday Future.
LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (AP) — Lake Tahoe is among hundreds of lakes worldwide that researchers say are warming due to climate change. The study funded by NASA and the National Science Foundation was presented this week at the American Geophysical Union meeting in San Francisco. Lake Tahoe had a temperature increase above the average — 0.97 degree when measured by hand and 1.28 degrees measured by satellite.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — A 58-year-old woman driving an SUV the wrong way on Interstate 80 near Reno early today was killed in a head-on crash. Two people in the other car were injured, one critically. Police say Elaine Sands of Reno was driving with her lights off before 5 a.m. when the crash occurred.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police are searching for a suspect whose accomplice was killed in an attempted robbery at a doctor's office. Police say 45-year-old Veronica Clay was shot to death when she and a man confronted the doctor Wednesday night. An office employee shot at the robbers.
