LOS ANGELES (AP) — Southern California wide receivers coach Tee Martin will replace Clay Helton as offensive coordinator.

Helton, who became the Trojans' head coach earlier this year following Steve Sarkisian's dismissal, announced Martin's promotion on Friday.

Martin has coached wide receivers since joining the USC staff in 2012 and will retain that responsibility.

Helton said he is "beyond confident in his ability to lead our offense to new heights."

USC is averaging 449.6 yards per game and 34.9 points.

The Trojans (8-5) face Wisconsin (9-3) in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 30.
