GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Drick Bernstine scored a career-high 20 points and had 10 rebounds to lead North Dakota to an 80-59 victory over NAIA's Valley City State on Thursday night.

Bernstine added three assists and four steals. Quinton Hooker had 17 points and Carson Shanks chipped in a season-high 11 for North Dakota (5-5).

Darryl Howell had 13 points and LJ Booth 11 for Valley City State.

North Dakota had a 16-15 lead before Bernstine sparked a 13-2 run to help the Fighting Hawks take a 45-33 halftime lead. Bernstine scored 15 points in the first half.

North Dakota opened the second half on a 6-0 spurt and stretched its lead to 18 points. The Fighting Hawks went six minutes without a field goal before Shanks' putback made it 60-43 with 11 minutes left.
