DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Joe Thomasson had 16 points with a pair of 3-pointers, Michael Karena added 15 points with seven boards and Wright State beat Charleston Southern 71-65 on Thursday night.

The Raiders (4-7) pulled away down the stretch with a 14-4 run to lead 65-52 on Thomasson's 3 with 2:14 left.

Armel Potter closed the gap to 68-65 for Charleston Southern (4-7) on a pair of free throws with 15 seconds to play. Mark Hughes made 3 of 4 foul shots from there to secure the win.

Mark Alstork added 12 points, JT Yoho scored 11 and Hughes 10 for Wright State. The Raiders had a 12-0 run to close out the final 5:21 of the first half up 38-23.

Charleston Southern pulled to 51-48 with a 6-0 run midway through the second half. Patrick Wallace led the Buccaneers with 11 points. Raemond Robinson and Javis Howard added 10 points each.
