CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Cubs have hired former major league catcher John Baker as a baseball operations assistant.
Baker played seven seasons in the majors — most recently with the Cubs in 2014.
He will work with their minor leaguers and evaluate amateur players leading up to the draft. He will also spend time around the major league club.
The Cubs announced the move on Thursday.
