FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Marvelle Harris scored 20 points and Fresno State made five free throws in the final seconds to defeat Cal State Bakersfield 76-68 Wednesday night.

At 8-3, Fresno State is off to its best start since 2006 and is 7-0 at home — the best since 2002.

The Bulldogs trailed 61-56 with less than seven minutes to play, but outscored Bakersfield 13-1 over the next five minutes. Harris scored eight points — including a dunk — in the go-ahead rally.

The Roadrunners (6-4) twice battled back to within three, the last at 71-68 with 39 seconds left after Damiyne Durham's jumper. But Cezar Guerrero, Terrell Carter II and Julien Lewis made 5 of 6 foul shots.

Harris has scored 20-plus in five games this season. Carter added 13 points and Karachi Edo had 12 points and 10 boards.

Durham and Aly Ahmed scored 15 each for Bakersfield, which had its three-game winning streak end.
