MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — New Memphis coach Mike Norvell has signed four junior college transfers to letters of intent, a group led by former Tennessee quarterback Riley Ferguson and former Alabama safety Jonathan Cook.

Memphis announced the signings Wednesday.

Ferguson redshirted at Tennessee in 2013 and took part in spring practice with the Vols in 2014 before leaving Coffeyville Community College where he ranked third in passing averaging 326.9 yards per game with 36 touchdowns.

Cook was dismissed from Alabama after some limited playing time in 2014 as a redshirt freshman. The safety went to Garden City Community College where he had two interceptions.

Norvell, hired to replace Justin Fuente, also signed offensive linemen Harnett Gill of Butler Community College and Jocelee "Lio" Lafaele of Riverside City College.
