NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Mack Mercer scored a season-high 16 points on 7-for-10 shooting as Belmont, coming off an eight-day semester break, defeated Division II Ouachita Baptist 80-54 Tuesday night.
Austin Luke and Evan Bradds combined for eight unanswered points just before halftime as Belmont (7-4) broke away from Ouachita Baptist to lead 25-20 at the break.
Bradds finished with his 10th career double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Craig Bradshaw added 14 points and four steals, and Luke added nine points.
The Bruins shot 26-for-51 from the field (51 percent), blocked seven shots and made five steals as Ouachita Baptist made 16 turnovers.
The Tigers made only 19 of 61 field goals (31 percent). Tirrell Brown scored 12 points and had four steals for the Tigers. Justin McCleary scored 11 points and David Berete also had four steals.
