MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Federal agents are not saying why they raided more than a half-dozen chiropractic offices in the Twin Cities.

FBI spokesman Kyle Loven tells the Star Tribune (http://strib.mn/1RnvITZ ) that agents were searching between six and 10 office locations Tuesday. He says the offices were involved in "coordinated operations." But Loven declined to say more, noting that the search warrants are still sealed.

The Minnesota Department of Commerce fraud bureau is working with the FBI on the case.

Insurance Federation of Minnesota spokesman Mark Kulda says for years, insurance company investigators have told authorities about criminal rings engaged in staged accidents and fraudulent billing.

Kulda says he doesn't know what led to the searches, but says insurance company investigators have turned over information about chiropractors charging for services that were not performed.
