LAS VEGAS (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio is rallying supporters in Nevada as he heads into the debate in Las Vegas. The Florida senator held a rally at the Renaissance hotel in Las Vegas. Rubio highlighted his family's humble beginnings and his years living in southern Nevada, and lamented policies he says are putting the American Dream out of reach. The rally comes a day before a CNN Republican presidential debate at The Venetian Las Vegas hotel-casino.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas say a woman with a shotgun was shot and killed by SWAT officers after an hours-long standoff at a residence in a neighborhood north of downtown. An officer says the woman was armed when she was shot. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity wasn't immediately disclosed.

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Authorities have identified a 20-year-old woman who was killed and a 19-year-old man who was arrested on a murder charge after a brawl erupted in gunfire in a North Las Vegas convenience store parking lot. Police say Norman Smith of North Las Vegas is being held at the Las Vegas City Jail. It's not clear if he has a lawyer. The Clark County coroner identified the dead woman as Tineshea Antovia Adams of Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a medical episode may be involved, but the Clark County coroner says it'll take a while to determine what killed a 50-year-old Henderson man who crashed the minivan into a block wall behind a Las Vegas Strip resort. The coroner has identified the dead man as Dominic F. Savelio.
