MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Calvin Hermanson scored a career-best 23 points, including five 3-pointers, and Emmett Naar added 18 points with a career-high 11 assists to help Saint Mary's (Calif.) beat Cal Poly 93-63 Monday night.
Stefan Gonzales tied a career-high with 15 points while Dane Pineau scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Saint Mary's (7-1). Joe Rahon finished with nine points, seven rebounds and eight assists.
Hermanson made three 3-pointers during a 13-2 run to open the game. A 12-3 spurt later in the half, during which Hermanson, Naar and Evan Fitzner each hits 3s, made it 41-23. Saint Mary's, which never trailed, led by double figures the rest of the way.
The Gaels recorded or tied season highs for field goals made (35), 3-pointers made (19), 3-point field goal percent (61.3) and assists (28).
Luke Meikle led Cal Poly (5-4) with 18 points and Brian Bennett scored 15.
