RIVERDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Shane Richards scored 19 points to lead Manhattan over St. Francis Brooklyn 71-60 Monday.

Richards was 5 of 12 from the field and 7 of 8 from the line with eight rebounds and two steals. The Jaspers (2-7) shot over 55 percent as a team and made 8 of 13 from beyond the arc. Rich Williams scored 15 points with seven boards and Zane Waterman added 13 points.

Antonio Jenifer paced St. Francis (3-7) with 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Chris Hooper had 15 points with eight rebounds and Tyreek Jewell scored 12 points.

Manhattan scored the first seven points of the game and the Jaspers led by 14 at intermission after Thomas Capuano's 3-pointer at the buzzer.

St. Francis cut the deficit to eight on three separate occasions in the second half — the last with 6:25 to go on a Hooper layup — but could get no closer.
