ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A.J. Davis had career highs of 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead Central Florida to a 75-61 victory over Florida Atlantic on Saturday night.
Adonys Henriquez added 13 points and Shaheed Davis 12 for the Knights (5-3). Davis made 8 of 13 shots and his big rebound night led UCF to a 43-31 advantage on the boards. The Knights were ranked ninth in the nation in rebounds per game at 45.
The Knights came in holding opponents to 36.6 percent from the field and the Owls (2-6) ended up 21 of 37 for 36.8 percent.
The Knights closed the first half on an 11-3 run to lead 34-25 with Henriquez scoring 11. They led by 18, 52-34, with 11:23 remaining and the lead stayed in double figures.
Jesse Hill scored a career-high 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting for the Owls with Jackson Trapp adding 15.
