OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — Left tackle Eugene Monroe has been placed on injured reserve by the Baltimore Ravens, a move that ends his disappointing season.

Monroe was already declared out of Sunday's game against Seattle with a shoulder injury. He started six games this season and finished only three.

James Hurst is listed behind Monroe at left tackle and has started six games at the position this season.

Also on Saturday, the Ravens promoted quarterback Bryn Renner and wide receiver Chris Matthews to the active roster.

Because quarterback Matt Schaub is questionable for Sunday, Renner could serve as the backup to Jimmy Clausen if Schaub is placed on the inactive list.

Baltimore cut offensive lineman Kaleb Johnson to clear space on the roster.
