NJIT hangs on for 92-86 win over St. Francis Brooklyn in OT

NEW YORK (AP) — Tim Coleman sank the go-ahead 3-pointer in overtime and finished with a career-high 27 points to lead NJIT to a 92-86 win over St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday night.

Coleman, who also grabbed 12 rebounds, hit the go-ahead bucket early in the extra period, making it 78-76 with 3:13 to play. NJIT (6-4) scored six of the next eight points to pad the advantage and clinched the win by sinking 8 of 10 from the line over the final 44 seconds.

Ky Howard contributed 23 points and 10 rebounds while Damon Lynn and Rob Ukawuba added 15 points apiece for the Highlanders, who shot 53 percent from the field (32 of 61).

Tyreek Jewell led St. Francis (3-6) with 21 points, including the game-tying jumper at the end of regulation to force OT. Jon Doss added 15 points, while Chris Hooper, Gunnar Olafsson and Antonio Jenifer had 14 apiece.
